Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on August 9 1976 the oldest of four children. Her parents were dentists and teacher recognized and backed her love for acting and theatre from a young age which overcame her initial ambition to be a primatologist due to her love of monkeys. Early success and a rapid growth in popularity marked her as a young actor. Following her studies in 1998 she was a participant in a French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning her acting career in earnest. Tautou is a pupil of in the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth and was a student there from the age of a child but has sworn off her Catholic childhood. Now, she claims to be a non-Catholic. In addition to her acting career she also pursued a modelling career. Also, she is the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. In addition to her acting work she is also interested in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection photos in the Arles Film Festival with the title Superficial. The work she produces is focused on fame in addition to popularity. Also, it features portraits of herself and focus on journalists that have closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid success following Amelie. Audrey Tautou's global popularity and success exploded following her performance as Amelie Poulain's leading woman in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie achieved international success on the screen and was awarded awards across the world. It is the top-grossing French film made in America. In the years following the release of this film, Tautou starred in many films that ranged from British dramas to Jean Pierre Jeunet's long dimanche de fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood and was in the film with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
